What is teddy fabric?

Teddy is another name for bouclé. And bouclé is French for loop. Teddy fabric consists of all loosely woven loops and threads that together form the fabric. The loops are created because 1 of the 2 threads is less tightly stretched during weaving. The space between the bouclé threads determines whether the loops are more or less visible. The number of loops of the fabric determines how thick the fabric is. Bouclé fabrics are knitted or woven. These loops create the woolly, warm, soft fabric. Teddy looks like fur but is not natural. But teddy is of course just as cuddly! The teddy fabric therefore provides a playful and warm effect on your sofa. The advantages of the bouclé fabric are that it is thick and sturdy. The fabric provides a soft silhouette of the sofa or accessories such as cushions.

Is a teddy sofa suitable for me?

Does teddy stay beautiful for a long time?

Teddy is dirt-repellent, wear-resistant and wrinkle-free. It may look fragile, but this is not the case. Teddy is actually very wear-resistant due to the special way of weaving. The teddy fabric is also wrinkle-free and therefore always looks like new. The loop structure makes the fabric particularly dimensionally stable. Our teddy fabric is 100% polyester, which guarantees a long lifespan. The advantage of polyester furniture fabrics is that they are more stain-resistant and discolour less quickly due to sunlight. Our ecru and beige teddy fabrics are synthetic with a Martindale of 40,000. Martindale is a value that we assign to indicate the wear resistance of furniture fabrics. As a rule, a minimum value of 25,000 applies to seating furniture that is used in the private environment. From 35,000 you can hardly expect any complaints. We therefore select our fabrics on a Martindale of at least 35,000. With the teddy fabric of 40,000 Martindale you do not have to expect any problems. Our pink teddy has a high Martindale of no less than 100,000.

To determine the degree of lightfastness, there is an international assessment scale of 1 – 8. In concrete terms, an increase of one point on that scale means that the lightfastness has doubled. It then takes twice as long for the fabric to fade. The lightfastness of teddy fabrics is 5, which means that the fabric discolours minimally. Because the teddy fabric is light in colour and of a synthetic quality, the chance of discolouration is very small.

How do I keep my teddy sofa clean?

You can easily clean a teddy with your vacuum cleaner. To be on the safe side, it is advisable to purchase the stain service of 4x6 sofa. With this, you treat your sofa with Protexx and your sofa gets an invisible protective layer. Your sofa will then stay beautiful for longer. Still a stain? Treat it with the multi cleaner. Can't do it? Then the stain service offers a suitable solution and they will come to your home to remove the stain free of charge.

How do I combine a teddy sofa in my interior?

Because teddy fabric is very versatile, it can be used in many interior styles. A teddy sofa will not look out of place in a retro, rural, industrial or modern interior, but also in a trendy or Scandinavian interior. That is the nice thing about teddy, classic, trendy or tough: teddy fits in! A teddy sofa fits well in an environment with more hard materials.
